Each state has its own rules for when sales tax applies to items bought and stored outside the state, so we recommend checking your state’s rules or consulting a tax advisor for more details.
For example, California charges sales tax on items purchased out of state and brought into California if used within 90 days (California Regulation 1620). If you live in California and retrieve your cards shortly after purchase, you may need to pay sales tax.
